I ADORE this bedroom. The bedding adds a lot of glamor, which is kept down-to-earth with a neutral, solid rug.

This room is very mid-century mod, but it doesn't feel overly gimmicky to me.

If you're scared of bold color or pattern - do it in a small space like an entryway or powder room first. I tend to think "big impact" is more interesting in small spaces anyway.

This house by Kim Winkler is really unique. Rarely do you see such an amazing blend of dark, luxurious elegance paired with such rustic elements.

This picture has inspired me to maybe paint my bathroom black.... anyone here tried it?

Lovely living room potpourri

I am moving tomorrow and have been painting our new place for the last two days and I am EXHAUSTED. Starting fresh in a new place is exciting, but moving as an act is horrible. So, I won't be posting tomorrow, but want to wish everyone a great and hopefully much more relaxing weekend than I'll be having.

We love Audrey Hepburn. She seemed so effortlessly chic and sophisticated. From Charade to My Fair Lady, her movies are style icons unto themselves. Who can forget the "little black dress" in Breakfast at Tiffany's or the black and white extravaganza of the races in My Fair Lady? Audrey Hepburn's personal style was equally feminine and elegant with modern twists. It's easy to see how these elements can inspire chic interiors.

Holly Golightly's wardrobe with its trench coats and little black dresses was classic but her apartment was anything but. Remember the bathtub loveseat?

Feminine, glamorous, sweet & pretty - what our homes could look like if he didn't hate pink

Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't trade my man for the world, but sometimes...don't you just want to paint your bedroom pale pink? Or drink your tea out of a gold rimmed cup and saucer everyday? Well, those of us who have to consider the men in our homes when making design choices can live vicariously through these ladies who have the freedom to make their homes as feminine as they like. So, turns out a man does share this bed with Jolene. God bless him - I love symmetrical nightstands - but I don't think Chris would tolerate me being so anal for one minute.



Isn't this pretty and sweet mint green bedroom just the epitome of femininity? I had a mint green bedroom at one point and I found the color to be very soothing.
