This apartment belongs to the uber-talented founder of Rubie Green, Michelle Adams.
This image makes me fall in love with white all over again - but boyfriend likes the darker woods.
Michelle is all about sustainable, green design. This cypress trunk side table is free of toxic finishes.
The striped modern upholstery balances out the traditional frames of the dining chairs
I love the idea of using what you already have. Under the table cloth (which is actually a drape that Michelle already had but didn't fit any of her current windows), is a sideboard that she found at a thrift store. She wasn't able to get it repaired as she planned, but instead of tossing it and buying something else, she worked with what she had and made it work. I think it looks great.
The textiles you see around her home are from her store which carries green fabrics, Rubie Green.
What do you think?

Happy weekend and some entryway love
Holidays are right around the corner - which means guests. Here's a little inspiration if your entryway is in need of some sprucing up.

Interiors that embody today's "traditional"
I think the below interiors really capture what I might consider today's "traditional" home. These are all real homes, so they aren't the staged, sometimes unlivable, concepts we see in magazines.
What do you think? How would you describe today's "traditional" home?
That little guy is the cutest!
oh how I wish I had time these days to relax on a lounge with my fav magazines
a very zen knitter's nook
gorgeous room, especially love the fireplace surround

A real home that looks beautiful and lived in at the same time
Pictures of beautiful interiors abound but I always appreciate house tours much more than staged spaces for editorial pieces. This real home is in Chicago, lived in by a furniture designer and art professional, circa early 1900's, and is 1200 sq. feet.
Enjoy!
I'm really into simply lately. The lines are clean and you can tell possessions are well edited....
I also totally crushed on that rug when West Elm introduced it...still love it

Again, the space is sparse but not lacking visual interest... love the mix n' match chairs as well
great use of space putting that storage unit in the hall...

The dark molding is gorgeous. One day I will have atleast one desk and one work table in my home office/studio!
