As some of you might already know, in August I am moving to DC because my boyfriend will be attending GWU in the fall to get his masters. While I grew up in MD, I only ever went to DC for school field trips, so I don't really know much about the different neighborhoods. So yesterday before attending Manvi from Mochatini's fabulous tabletop decorating how-to party, which I'll be sharing pics from later, I drove around and explored some recommended neighborhoods. I checked out Columbia Heights, Shaw, Foggy Bottom, Dupont, Silver Spring (MD suburb), and Capitol Hill. It's ultimately going to come down to the $$/space ratio. Anyway, enough of that - here are some fab. DC apartments...
The vintage chic split level apartment is in Cleveland Park.

Insired living rooms, from eclectic to retro
Sorry I've been M.I.A you guys, I was traveling to Spain, where I'll be visiting with my boyfriend for a month until we leave on a nine week backpacking trip around Europe. I'll fill you in with more details later - so stay tuned!
For today I thought I'd just grace Decorology with some really great living rooms. Let me know which one is your fav!
Love this modern retro/industrial look. The carpet keeps it cozy.

Skona Hem always gets it right!
Don't you love this eclectic look? It's so warm and full of personality.

So glamorous but the exposed brick ads a nice edge to keep it from being to frou-frou

Love the rug, chairs, and salon-style wall.

Glamorous greys and other gorgeous decorating ideas...
...all from Atelier Abigail Ahern. I am very, very excited about her new book, "A Girl's Guide to Decorating." You can read more about it on her site.
I would definitely like to incorporate more of the confidence and daring she illustrates in my own digs. I've only received a peek of the book but I will definitely be trying to check it out more thoroughly. What do you think of her style?

Love the hot pink accents!

This is a sketch of the living room above from the book which is accompanied with tips for furniture, texture, etc.

I just got a suede handbag very close to the color of those cabinets - so pretty!
I adore this home office! So bright, and alive but still serene.

A glamorous, exotic retreat
I'm going to Morocco in January, and I couldn't be more excited. I've wanted to go ever since the first time I ate at a Moroccan restaurant in NYC. I saw a beautiful ad for this hotel in Marrakech, called "La Mamounia" in House Beautiful, and I decided to see if there were more pics online. Granted, I have a hostel budget, but I can dream!

mmm...Moroccan food....

I can't wait to see the architecture!

Beautiful, no?
